In order to see what PSM does first of all PSM module must be ACTIVATED. It is done using a special mercedes software called STAR DIAGNOSIS. So an activation of an PSM module can be done only in a Mercedes service center.
What PSM does? It does a lot of things. It has 20 programmable digital outputs (some of them can be configured to serve as inputs), 10 digital inputs, etc. It can also give you access to some ICAN (internal CAN) informations via ABH-BUS (pins: 2-15 ABHBUS low and 12-18 ABHBUS high). On the ABHBUS run standardized informations. This standard is called FMS (fleet management standard).
The bottom line is : every function that PSM does, must be programmed using STAR DIAGNOSIS software.
